According to the industrial production statistics of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, demand for interface card remained strong in the first quarter of 2006 despite the first quarter considered the dull season for this industry. Taiwan’s outputs and sales volume rose at annul growth rates of 9.8 percent and 14.54 percent, respectively, in the first quarter of 2006. In particular, orders for TV and hard disc control cards rose. It is worth noting that a decline in unit price also spurred demand, increasing shipment and sale volume. Unit price declined to NT$900 in the first quarter of 2006, from NT$1,250 in 2005. Sales value also dropped.
